6 month old baby Aulia received her first labioplasty, repairing her lips on Thursday 21 April 2008. 

We would like extend our sincere thanks the board of Citra Baru Foundation, specifically to Ibu Hartini Moerdani and all the other members and staff for their help, as well as to the surgeons of K.B. Sumber Sejahtera, dr. Bisono SpBP and dr. Wicaksono, SpBP.

The surgery took 2,5 hours
to complete and the immediate result was beautiful, thanks to the skilled plastic surgeons who do invaluable work, donating their time and skills to help children like Aulia.

When we visited at the clinic on Sunday, 20 April, 2008, Aulia was taking her morning nap. Aulia's mother told us that the first day post-op had been rough. The second day she was already laughing and back to her ususal active self again, trying to get out of the arm restraints that they put on so that she will not touch the incision area. On Sunday she was eating normally again and seemed to be doing really well.

Aulia's parents are very happy and wished tell all of you who helped, how grateful they are and how relieved they were to see the results of the operation. We were told that due to the shortness of the left lip it was difficult to make the repair symmetrical and her nose is slightly stretched. She might need further lip-revision surgery in the future, but for now the result is a huge improvement and she looks beautiful.

A very happy completion of the first step. Her next surgery to correct the palate will likely be next year unless there is a decision to make a lip revision prior to that.
